CCM Tacks AS-V Pro Skates

In 2022, CCM will refresh their Tacks skate line with the CCM Tacks AS-V Pro Skates at the top price point. Let’s take a closer look to see what makes the CCM Tacks AS-V Pro Skates so good.

Starting in the quarter package, CCM will continue to use their exclusive one-piece boot technology made for the power skater with an explosive stride. The material used here is a RFM Composite with carbon. This setup uses premium materials and is going to provide a ton of energy transfer while out on the ice. The AS-V Pro skates are rated at a 215 on CCM’s stiffness scale, and have a thermoformable core to provide a more customized fit.

Moving to the back of the skate, CCM will use a Powerflex tendon guard with carbon on the CCM Tacks AS-V Pro Skates. This will provide increased range of motion during your stride, leading to more power. In front of your foot, CCM uses a replaceable metatomic tongue with D3O foam. The tongue is multi-layered and listed at 7mm thick. It’s designed with an asymmetrical flex point to wrap more closely around your foot, and emphasizes protection with the inclusion of D3O foam.

As we move inside the boot of the CCM Tacks AS-V Pro skates, you will find a TotalDRI Pro + liner with Polygiene. This material helps to wick away moisture from your feet, keeping them dry and helping to keep you lighter on the ice. It also provides enhanced durability and the Polygiene treatment works to keep odors away.

Beneath your foot in the CCM Tacks AS-V Pro skates will be a molded CCM Ortholite Ultralite footbed with heel grip. The aim here is to be as light weight as possible, while also remaining enhanced comfort and support. They’ve achieved this on the AS-V Pro skates while also being environmentally conscious through the use of recycled EVA foam.

Because the CCM Tacks AS-V Pro skates use a one-piece boot, the midsole beneath your foot is also made from lightweight composite. This is really where you notice the enhanced energy transfer from a top end skate.

Attached to the one-piece boot, CCM will be using their Speedblade XS holder. This design features a quick release with bladelock system for easily swapping out steel on your CCM Tacks AS-V Pro skates.

Another great feature seen on the CCM Tacks AS-V Pro skates is the ability to customize by choosing your Step Steel. You can select from your desired performance level and finish at the time of purchase, rather than swapping out blades later on.

The new CCM Tacks AS-V Pro skates will launch in 2022 at a price of $949.99 for senior sizes in the US. When they become available, our friends at Ice Warehouse will have them ready to ship and arrive at your door by launch day.
