Pavel Datsyuk Scores Another Beauty

The highlights for Pavel Datsyuk in his return to the KHL are coming fast and furious.

Datsyuk’s latest highlight reel goal comes in dramatic fashion. With his new team SKA Saint Petersburg trailing by a goal late in the third period, Datsyuk collected a pass from teammate Ilya Kovalchuk, made a quick move to beat the defender, and then unleashed a blazing wrist shot over the goalies glove. The goal tied the game 5-5 with only seconds left to play. Unfortunately, Datsyuk and his SKA teammates would end up losing in a shootout.

On the bright side for SKA, the duo of Pavel Datsyuk and Ilya Kovalchuk has been absolutely deadly out on the ice. In only four games, the former NHL superstars have combined for an incredible 15 points.

More importantly, Pavel Datsyuk is doing exactly what he wanted to do back in his home country. He’s excelling on the ice and putting on a show each and every night. He’s giving back in the exact way he wanted to.
