Bruins prospect sustains neck laceration

Boston Bruins prospect Jeremy Lauzon sustained a serious neck injury this past Friday when a skate clipped him during a QMJHL playoff matchup.

“Reps for Jeremy Lauzon, BOS prospect from Rouyn-Noranda taken to hospital,” TSN analyst Bob McKenzie tweeted after the incident. “said he ‘sustained neck laceration and he’s out of danger.'”

The 18-year-old defenseman suffered the injury after a collision behind the Huskies’ net during the first period. Lauzon was rushed to hospital and the team later announced that he is in stable condition.

Lauzon, who currently plays for the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, was selected 52nd overall by the Bruins in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He had 10 goals and 50 points in 46 games for the Huskies this season, and one goal and seven assists in eight playoff games.
