NHL Three Stars – What are they using?

FIRST STAR – SEMYON VARLAMOV, G, COLORADO AVALANCHE

Semyon Varlamov had an incredible four game stretch last week to earn top honors. He finished the week 4-0-0 with a 0.99 goals against average and a .972 save percentage. His four straight wins helped vault the Avalanche back in to the wild card picture in the Western Conference as well. Colorado is now 19-12-3 with Varlamov in net.

Varlamov is a CCM guy when it comes to gear. He uses the CCM Extreme Flex II goal pads, as well as the CCM Extreme Flex II blocker and catch glove. Varlamov also uses a CCM goalie stick.

 

SECOND STAR – LEE STEMPNIAK, RW, NEW JERSEY DEVILS

Lee Stempniak has quietly been pacing himself for a career year this season. The 32 year old New Jersey Devils forward picked up a league leading four goals last week as he claimed second star honors. Stempniak also notched an assist, and now has 36 points in 49 games for the Devils.

Stempniak is primarily an Easton gear guy. He wears an Easton helmet, and carries an Easton Stealth CX stick with his Easton pro four roll gloves. On his feet, however, are Bauer Vapor 1X skates.

 

THIRD STAR – BRIAN ELLIOTT, G, ST. LOUIS BLUES

Brian Elliott earned third star honors for last week by putting up outstanding numbers as he went 2-1-1 in four games. Elliott’s play resulted in a 1.48 goals against average, along with a .955 save percentage. Despite losing the starting job to Jake Allen, Elliott has continued to play strongly and now has a point in 8 of his last 10 games played.

Elliott’s goalie gear comes from Bauer, and he recently picked up a new set of pads with an all blue design inspired by Curtis Joseph. His all blue pads are Bauer Reactor goal pads, and he also uses the Bauer Reactor blocker and catch glove. Elliott also uses a Bauer goalie stick.
