Aleksander Barkov Dangles for Panthers Shootout Winner

Florida Panthers forward Aleksander Barkov used an interesting move last night to lead his team to a shootout victory over the visiting Vancouver Canucks.

As Barkov approached the top of the circles, headed towards Jacob Markstrom, the skilled Finnish center played the puck off of the outside of his own skate before faking and roofing the puck with a backhand.

Barkov’s goal, followed by a Roberto Luongo save on Sven Baertschi, would be exactly what the Panthers needed for the win. The Panthers now sit just behind the Detroit Red Wings at 4th in the Atlantic Division. They have now won four straight games.

In 24 games played this season Barkov has 7 goals and 11 assists, good for 18 points.
