Ottawa Shootings Lead to Postponed Leafs/Senators Game

Quite a scary turn of events have unfolded in Ottawa today where a shooting has taken place at Canada’s National War Memorial. One soldier, a guard of the memorial, was killed in the shooting. Additionally, one of the gunmen has also been killed, but police are reportedly searching for another suspect.

The following video was released by The Globe and Mail where you can hear several shots fired inside the building.

You may also be aware that the Toronto Maple Leafs are currently in Ottawa for tonight’s game against the Senators. Due to today’s activity, the game has since been postponed.

The Maple Leafs were apparently involved in a lockdown procedure earlier today at their hotel. There have been reports that some of the Leafs players could hear the shots being fired from their rooms.

The primary concern right now is for safety of all of those involved today. The Leafs are looking to get out of their hotel and to a safe place, according to Jim Hughson.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who was involved in today’s unfortunate events.
