Joe Pavelski with slick no-look pass to Thornton

Joe Thornton isn’t much of a goal scorer. And Joe Pavelski isn’t exactly known for his incredible play-making abilities. But the two switched roles last night as the Sharks doubled up on the Blues and beat them 6-3.

Pavelski and Thornton helped put the Sharks up 2-0 early in the first period on the power play when Pavelski found a rebound from a shot from the point sitting at his feet. Instead of banging it home, Pavelski slid a no-look pass back to Joe Thornton, who was streaking into the slot and let a quick wrist shot loose to go top shelf past Blues netminder Brian Elliott.

The win gave the Sharks two points on the night, helping them to overtake the Blues in the Western conference standings where the Sharks are currently in second place. Check out video of the pass below.
