ESPN3 to Broadcast KHL Games

Alexander Ovechkin KHLThis morning the KHL and ESPN3 announced that select KHL games will be featured on ESPN3 throughout the season. While it may not be the best hockey in the world, it will have to due until the lockout is resolved.

ESPN3 is an online streaming channel for ESPN which broadcasts a number of sporting events. Due to the growing interest in the KHL because of the NHL lockout, ESPN3 was quick to nab the rights to broadcast some games.

Through October 10th, ESPN3 will be offering five KHL games. They will begin with a game featuring Alexander Ovechkin, who plays for Dynamo Moscow, as they take on Ak Bars.

While Alexander Ovechkin will be featured in three of the first five games broadcast, they airings will also include other NHL superstars. Ilya Kovalchuck, who plays for SKA, will be featured in two games, and Pavel Datsyuk’s CSKA team will be featured in one as well. CSKA also features the KHL’s three time and reigning MVP Alexander Radulov.

Here’s a list of the first five KHL games being broadcast on ESPN3:

October 3 – Dynamo Moscow vs. Ak Bars
October 6 –  Lev vs SKA
October 7 –  Slovan vs Dynamo Moscow
October 8 –  CSKA vs SKA
October 9 – Lev vs Dynamo Moscow
