Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water…

The second round seems as unpredictable as the first. Last night’s games were every bit exciting, one series tied, another a prominent lead.

The Washington Capitals have been the center of attention lately with the fact that they made the playoffs, beat the Boston Bruins to advance to the second round, and perhaps even more of a shocker, Alexander Ovechkin is seeing less and less minutes. Head Coach Dale Hunter is on to something though, as despite Ovechkin only playing 13:36 minutes of ice-time last night, Ovechkin scored the game-winning power-play goal. We may find out later that Ovechkin is playing hurt or perhaps Hunter has created some sort of new style of play, but for now, we watch and wonder how long these Caps can keep winning.

Going from one crazy game to another, the score was 4 – 0 after the first period. The team in the lead was the 8th seeded Los Angeles Kings while the team losing is the 2nd seeded St. Louis Blues. The Kings took out the 1st seeded Vancouver Canucks and are back home awaiting home ice advantage for games three and four. Blues’ Head Coach Ken Hitchcock is quickly going from hero to zero in the eyes of Blues’ fans everywhere. Final score was 5 – 2.
