CCM 4R Pro II Hockey Gloves

New for 2012, CCM Hockey has released the CCM 4R Pro II hockey gloves. As the name suggests, they are a four roll style glove, and feature a great updated look. You may have seen these gloves on Marian Hossa recently, as he wore them on several occasions throughout the second half of the season.

When taking a look at the specs, you’ll see some nice features added by CCM to make this move into the range of a higher end glove, with pro level protection.

On the exterior, CCM has added ventilated blocks on each one of the rolls to help maximize airflow. This is going to assist in keeping your hands cool and dry throughout the game. The style is similar to what you may be familiar with on the Bauer four roll gloves. The PE inserts, also on the backhand, will keep your hands protected from errant shots or slashes. The glove shell will be made with technical nylon which is light weight and breathable.

Flipping over the CCM 4R Pro II gloves, we’ll see they’re equipped with a nash palm. There’s also some additional nash reinforcement in the high-wear areas of the palm.

The cuff on the CCM 4R Pro II gloves is a mobile cuff with PE inserts for added protection. It also contains a stitched on CCM logo on the molded cuff roll, giving off a classy appearance. The fingers will use the same PE inserts for protection, while carrying a split finger design. The thumb on the other hand, will be a three piece articulated thumb.

Moving inside the glove, CCM stocked their 4R Pro II gloves with a red CCM comfort liner which runs the entire length of the glove. An anti-microbial treatment on the liner will also help to keep your gloves free from bacteria, which will help keep the smell at bay for a while as well.

The CCM 4R Pro II gloves have some great features, which should help them compete similar gloves from other manufacturers. Coming in at only $99, the new CCM 4R II gloves are $10 less than Bauer 4 Roll Pro gloves, and over $100 less than Warrior Franchise gloves.

  1. Hossa changed to what looks like the Warrior Franchise gloves now? Haven’t tried the new CCM 4 roll pro II’s yet so I can’t be a judge on how good these gloves are. It also looks as if Joe Thornton tried these gloves out for a bit but then changed back to the previous model of the 4R Roll..

  2. in less than 30 ice sessions, fingers were coming out through the tips (a first) palm was ripping at seams and the palm itself looked like it was wearing through, coming apart, any minute in any number of places. Worst gloves this 17 year old A, AA, AAA, high school and junior player has ever had as far as durability. No other complaints, light, maneuverable, but whats the point if they don’t last 3 months? CCM should be ASHAMED. I’ll never even LOOK at a CCM glove again, and now I worry about their other gear.
