Bauer Vapor XR5 Roller Hockey Skate

Second in line for Bauer skates this year will be the Bauer Vapor XR5 roller hockey skate. While it will not be the top of the line skate, the Bauer Vapor XR5 will still have most of the features required from an advanced level player. Priced much lower than the APXR, the Vapor XR5 roller hockey skate could very well be the hottest seller in the new line.

The Bauer Vapor XR5 roller hockey skate is going to come with an ultra-light tech mesh quarter package that features the new molded X-rib pattern. On the inside of the boot, you will find the quick-dry hydrophobic grip liner. The tongue will be a 2-piece elite white felt, with metatarsal padding, that should be great for flopping. Your outsole on the XR5 will be a fiber composite to help enhance energy transfer.

Beneath the boot, you’re going to find a 6000 series CNC aluminum hi‑lo Vanguard chassis. We’re a little disappointed to not see a magnesium chassis, but it helps keep the price lower so we can live with it. The stock XR5 wheels will be Labeda Dynasty 3 X-soft which will spin on Swiss LE 608 bearings.

Just like the APXR, the Bauer Vapor XR5 roller hockey skate will only come in senior sizes 6-12 (full and half), and in D or EE widths.

We’re really digging the look of this skate as the greys on the boot are highlighted nicely with red accents. The red wheels match perfectly and give the skate a real nice overall look.

If you’re in the market for a new pair of inline skates and want to pick up a pair of these, you will not have to wait long. The Bauer Vapor XR5 roller hockey skate will hit retail stores September 15th, or you can pre-order a pair right now from Inline Warehouse for only $450!

  1. Great skates… Worth the price tag.. Took a few weeks to break in. Without socks you really get a solid feel, and a proper stride. I skated Missions for 10 + years and noticed the difference with these in the first few strides… I switched over from Mission Axiom.. No comparison… These rock
