Carrying on with where they left off in the Super Tacks line, the upcoming Super Tacks AS3 Pro skates will offer an anatomical 360 degree fit by utilizing a one-piece monoframe boot. The premium carbon composite used in the boot is what helps drive incredible energy transfer and amazing performance. The one-piece boot also helps to deliver a closer fit, allowing you to move your feet quicker on the ice.

Helping to enclose the boot of the CCM Super Tacks AS3 Pro skates will be the all-new XS Tongue. This big selling point of the new tongue will be the ability to easily swap it out for a new tongue with the use of a small two pin clipping system. CCM will offer an XS Tongue Slim which is a 4mm black tongue will provide additonal volume inside the boot, the XS Tongue Regular which is a 7mm white tongue which gives you the standard volume and advanced lace bite protection, or the XS Tongue Extra which is a 10mm black tongue that will reduce boot volume but provide additional protection.

Around the top of the CCM Super Tacks AS3 Pro skates boot you will find an injected smooth contour pro comfort pad. This thick pad hovers around the top of the boot providing added comfort and protection, while a one-piece tendon guard is used to hug your foot and ankle as well. This setup not only provides tremendous comfort, but also adds durability.

Moving inside the boot, the CCM Super Tacks AS3 Pro skates will offer a TOTALDRI Pro+ Liner with durazone abrasion protection. The moisture wicking materials used are light in weight and will help to move moisture away from you, thus keeping your feet as dry as possible throughout each session on the ice. Meanwhile, the use of abrasion resistant materials help to protect against wear which will leave your skates looking newer for longer. CCM has also designed the Super Tacks AS3 Pro skates with memory foam ankle padding which will wrap anatomically around the foot for a customized fit and tremendous comfort.

Down beneath your foot you wil find a lightweight composite midsole for enhanced energy transfer. Beneath that, a CCM Ortholite Ultralite footbed will be used to support your foot and help maintain comfort. Supporting the boot will be the CCM Speedblade XS quick-release holder which will feature XS1 Black (+2mm) runners. These premium blades feature an oxide treatment designed to increase hardness of the runner to give you a longer edge life with increased height for better turning and an increase in performance.

The upcoming CCM Super Tacks AS3 Pro skates will be available in the spring of 2020 from our friends over at Ice Warehouse and will likely retail for close to $900. Keep checking back for release date details!

  1. My only “issue” with my AS1’s is the boot cuff is so stiff I need to wear a silicone ankle sleeve for them to be comfortable. I’m curious as to whether this has been mitigated in the AS3…they mention “comfort” quite a few times.
