Sidney Crosby Suffers Another Concussion

2014 Pittsburgh Penguins Third Jersey Black

Devastating news for Sidney Crosby today as it was announced the Pittsburgh Penguins captain has suffered another concussion.

Crosby was apparently hit and suffered the concussion during practice on Friday. He sat out a pre-season game on Saturday and was out of practice today to go through concussion testing.

This news could be a major setback for Crosby and the Penguins organization. Crosby is arguably the best hockey player in the world and has an unfortunate history of concussion problems. In fact, the Penguins star sat out the second half of the 2010-11 season with a concussion and did not return to action until the next season in November 2011.

The timing of this latest concussion is also anything but spectacular. Crosby and the Penguins are the reigning Stanley Cup Champions, and are looking to be the first team since the Detroit Red Wings in the late 90’s to repeat as Stanley Cup winners. The news also comes on the heels of Crosby leading Team Canada to a championship in the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.

We wish Crosby nothing but the best as he battles another concussion, and hope for a quick recovery.
