Nathan MacKinnon scores absolutely filthy overtime goal for North America

Colorado Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon gave Team North America a fighting chance to make it to the World Cup of Hockey semifinals today when he scored a ridiculous goal with a dominant display of puck control and stick-handling capabilities.

The goal came with less than a minute left in the overtime period as Team North America rifled a shot off the pipes that careened around the boards and toward the blue line. Johnny Gaudreau beat his Swrdish opponents to the puck and slid a nifty little pass between them to MacKinnon, who found himself all alone in front of the net. What followed was absolutely brilliant and can’t be described in words, so just watch the video below:

Despite the overtime loss, Team Sweden still advances to the semifinals as the winners of Group B. Team North America can advance if Team Finland defeats Team Russia in tomorrow’s contest.
