John Quenneville Between the Legs Goal at Memorial Cup

The Brandon Wheat Kings have quite a player in John Quenneville, and his latest goal at the Memorial Cup shows why New Jersey Devils fans should be excited for this prospect.

Quenneville, a first round pick (30th overall) of the Devils in 2014, scored an unbelievable between the legs goal in the third period of last night’s 5-3 loss to the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.

The goal came after a great pass from the Wheat Kings defenseman set Quenneville up with a breakaway. Quenneville offered a leg kick to fool and freeze the goalie, then dropped the puck back between his legs and fired the shot top shelf.

“When I got the puck, the goalie started to back up in his net,” Quenneville said of his incredible goal. “And I had a lot of space in front of me to move the puck.”

John Quenneville scored 31 goals in 57 games this season for the WHL’s Wheat Kings. He added another 42 assists on the season as well.
