Byfuglien Delivers Crushing Hit to Stone

The video below is a prime example of how important it is to keep your head up when on the ice. Ottawa’s Mark Stone was heading up the boards in the neutral zone near Winnipeg’s blue line when he met a 6-5, 220 pound wall known as Dustin Byfuglien.

The hit appeared to be clean as there was no penalty called on the ice. The hit drew a scrum where sticks and gloves were strung about the ice but no one was penalized for the post-whistle scrum.

Stone did leave the ice but returned for a short period of time before leaving again with what the Senators call a chest injury.
