Jaromir Jagr loses front teeth, tweets Santa

All Jaromir Jagr wants for Christmas are his front teeth.

Four of them.

The 43-year-old future Hall of Famer took a high stick to the face Tuesday night during Florida’s 2-1 shootout victory over the Ottawa Senators, which caused him to lose four teeth. So how did Jagr respond?

First, he patted Alex Chiasson, who hit Jagr with his stick, on the head to assure him he was OK. Then he told the media in a post-game interview that having fewer teeth made him faster.

“I lost some teeth but I gained some speed as you saw on that breakaway,” Jagr said to George Richards of the Miami Herald. “I don’t want to hear I’m slow anymore. I had the breakaway. I don’t think I’ll have another one for 10 years.”

Finally, after the game, he tweeted a photo of his new smile with a caption asking Santa for new teeth in time for Christmas. Take a look:
