Two Incredible Spin-O-Rama Goals

Today I wanted to showcase two of the nicest goals that I’ve seen recently. Oddly enough, they both come courtesy of the spin-o-rama move and it was used to perfection in both instances.

First up we have Josh Wesley playing for the OHL’s Plymouth Whalers. Wesley is a defenseman and a prospect for the Carolina Hurricanes. In a game against the Erie Otters, Wesley penetrated the offensive zone and used a beautiful spin to easily beat an Otters player. The move left Wesley alone in the left circle. Before he knew it, Wesley was down closer to the goal line and then flung a filthy backhand shot over the shoulder of Otters goaltender Devin Williams. At a near impossible angle, you have to wonder how Wesley was ever able to hit a shot like that. What an incredible display of skill. Check out the video below:

The next great spin-o-rama goal comes from Corey Mackin who plays for the Coquitlam Express of the British Columbia Hockey League, or BCHL. Mackin’s goal is almost a mirror of the one we saw above from Wesley. Mackin, as a lefty, flew up the right wing and made a nice spin around a defender. After beating the defender he roofed the puck over the goalies shoulder from in tight in another incredible display of skill. What an amazing individual effort to get the goal on that play. So, who do you guys think pulled it off better? Did Wesley or Mackin have the better spin-o-rama goal? Drop us a note in the comments with your thoughts!

  1. Corey Mackin’s spinorama gets my vote ! It was a smoother and tighter spin and the goals were similar ! It has nothing to do with him being my son ! Great no. To both players, a lot of fun to watch ! Thanks hockey world !
