Toews and Kane Highlight Stadium Series Game in Chicago

The NHL’s Stadium Series run for the 2013-14 season came to an end Saturday night in Chicago. It was the final of four outdoor games featuring some of the NHL’s biggest teams.

Under the lights and amidst snowy conditions, the Jonathan Toews and the Chicago Blackhawks dominated Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburg Penguins 5-1. Toews lead the way for all scorers, picking up two goals and an assist. One of his goals may very well have been the highlight of the weekend. Toews undressed Brooks Orpik in a one on one situation, and drove hard to the net to later beat Marc-Andre Fleury. It was a thing of beauty, and Toews knew it. Check out the video below:

And what’s better than a little friendly competition between teammates? Patrick Kane wouldn’t be outdone as he set up Kris Versteeg with a door step goal that was showcased Kane’s remarkable skill and precision passing. Driving in quick with Versteeg on a 2 on 1, Kane quickly hit the breaks and left Rob Scuderi swinging his stick and out of position. One Scuderi was out of the play, Kane wired a nice pass to Versteeg for the easy tap in goal.

Great highlights out of the Stadium Series finale on Saturday. The skill level displayed by Toews and Kane helps to show why the Blackhawks are a favorite to win the Stanley Cup again in 2014.
