NHL video parodies are nothing new, with some notable ones satiring the NHL’s “History Will Be Made” campaign from a few years back. But the NHL lockout has not only spawned all sorts of anger from fans and the media toward the players and the owners for their stubbornness and dedication to the almighty dollar, it has also generated a new wave of video parodies.
Popular songs like “Gangnam Style” and “Call Me maybe” have been parodied already to lesser success. But this one, being dubbed The Official Song of the NHL Lockout, is probably one of the best we have come across so far. With more than 230,000 views, the video features a hot brunette in an Edmonton Oilers jersey singing a lockout version of Taylor Swift’s single, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”
