Tour Thor BX Pro Roller Hockey Skate

Tour Hockey recently unveiled one of their latest products, the new Tour Thor BX Pro roller hockey skate. After a successful launch of high-end skates last year, Tour looks to launch another line in 2011 focusing more on the lower end to mid-range skates. Coming in at the popular $199 price point, the Tour Thor BX Pro roller hockey skate is going to compete directly with the Mission Axiom T6 ($199), as well as skates from both Bauer and Reebok which are priced similarly.

From my perspective, Tour has definitely nailed the design on the Thor BX Pro. The grey and black boot with orange accents and wheels really looks tremendous. It’s certainly not an overly flashy skate, as you might be used to from Tour, but it will definitely get the job done.

As far as components are concerned, the Thor BX Pro will feature the Labeda Hum’er Extreme chassis, which of course offers a straight wheel set-up of 80mm. The skate will come stock with Labeda wheels as well, the Millenium Gripper, which will sit on Bevo ABEC 9 bearings. Inside the boot you’ll find a custom quilted lining, as well as the memory foam comfort fit that you might be used to with Tour skates. Over all, you’re really seeing some great properties on an ideal price point skate in the Thor BX Pro. This skate should definitely be able to hold its own in the current market and should be a popular pick-up for anyone on the hunt for a new summer skate.

Tour Spartan Pro Roller Hockey Pants

Tour Spartan Pro Roller Hockey Pants

Tour players celebrate while wearing their new Tour Spartan Pro roller hockey pants

Anyone looking to get a new pair of roller hockey pants might want to take a second look at Tour. They recently released their Tour Spartan Pro roller hockey pants, and they look awesome. The Tour Spartan Pro is being marketed as a replacement for the Tour 10W30, which was a top seller for Tour for many years.

The first thing you will probably notice about the Spartan Pro is the price. At $38.99, they’re coming in at a lower price than all but one pair of pants in the Mission line. Even better, these pants are only $4 more than the lowest end offering by Mission.

While Mission pants tend to be light weight and feel great, durability has been an issue. My previous two pairs have fallen victim to numerous holes in less than a season wearing them. This won’t be a problem with the Spartan Pro as Tour has added two layers of 1680 Denier Nylon to the knees. That’s the strongest stuff you will find in roller hockey pants, which will ensure your pants stay in great shape for several seasons.

If you’re interested in picking up a pair of these, head over to Inline Warehouse. You can get a great deal and rock out the new Tour Spartan Pro roller hockey pants for $38.99.

Tour Thor GX 7 Roller Hockey Skate

Update: The Tour Thor GX 7 skate is now available for pre-order at Inline Warehouse. Click here to order now.

We’ve already covered some of the new skates in the 2011 Tour line, such as the Tour Thor EX-1 and the Thor ZX-9. Coming in at a price point just behind the ZX-9 will be the brand new Tour Thor GX-7. Much like the higher end skates in the line-up, the GX-7 has been upgraded a bit with newer materials and structure.  But overall, it will be an improvement over mid price point Tour skate from years past. I’m not really digging the color scheme on this set up as much as the other skates in the line, but Tour skates are definitely known for their performance. If you go with this skate, you’ll surely be pleased.

Here is our first peek at a Tour skate from the 2011 line up. The Tour Thor ZX9 roller hockey skate. This looks to be a mid-level skate, as it features the Labeda Dynasty wheel. Tour Skate Deals at Inline Warehouse

Tour Code Tabu Roller Hockey Skates

Tour Code Tabu Roller Hockey Skates

Anyone looking to upgrade their skates before the summer roller hockey seasons begin, might want to head over to Inline Warehouse and check out the deal they have for the top two sets of Tour skates. Now, through May 9th, you can pick up either the Tour Code Tabu skates (pictured), or the Tour Cobalt Q skates, and get a pretty generous gift in return. With purchase of the Tabu, you’ll get a $100 gift certificate, and with the Cobalt Q, a $75 gift certificate, which you can put to use towards a future purchase.

There have been rumors that Tour has been cooking up something new that they’re getting ready to release in the coming months. We could very well see more deals on these skates in the future to help clear out inventory for the new release.

A skate that has already popped up briefly, then disappeared, is the Tour Code Tabu X Factor. However, this skate looked more like a refresh of the original, with only cosmetic differences, rather than a new skate altogether. But perhaps Tour will be duplicating last years product release method by holding on to the previous years top model, and lowering the price point. Then on top of that, we’ll see a brand new skate to take the reigns from the Code Tabu.
