Well, back in October or November I impugned you
for picking these guys to have a good season.

Now look who's the dumb ass.....me.

These guys are going to make the playoffs- and the Wings might not.

I'm a believer that hits to the head should be outlawed. Players who deliver a hit to the head should be severely punished. Give them an indefinite suspension of however long the person who took the hit is out. Booth was out for half the season, its only fair for Richards to miss that time as well. If these guys realize the tough consequences of their unnecessary hits, I think that would put an end to head hits pretty quickly.

I also think it would be fair to eliminate the shootout. It would be sad to miss out on so many dangles, but teams like the Red Wings would really benefit. Despite having players like Datsyuk, they've still lost 12 games in overtime or a shootout, the majority coming in shootouts. If things are settled in a 4 on 4, or 3 on 3, perhaps the Wings win half of those and sit in 5th or 6th place in the west right now instead of 9th.

My oddball suggestion for deciding ties, how about 2 on 1's instead. Imagine the Sedin twins against Nick Lidstrom with Howie in net. Wouldn't that be fun?

Of course it was a strategic move- they just didn't
want to dump him.

I guess we both agree that he may longer be a Wing...ever.

Maltby going on IR was a strategic move to make room for Lilja. As for seeing him again, I do believe we will not. This is the last year in his contract where he becomes an UFA next year. I do not believe his play is where it used to be and that the Wings have enough young guys they can bring up.

Kirk Maltby went on the injured list when players
came back from injuries, ending his season.

Do you think we may have seen the last of him as a Wing? Maybe...

I don't really understand why the Avs sent Wolski to Phoenix for Mueller and Porter. Seems to me like you're giving away a proven guy for two maybes. I guess with Wolski being a RFA they figured someone was bound to throw a big offer sheet his way anyway, so why not unload and hope for the best with Mueller and Porter?

I'm a little embarrassed for Chelios....maybe more than a little.

First it's playing in the AHL, now Atlanta???

Honestly, a little sad

Yep, USA played wonderfully and it was a lot of fun watching them right up that fateful moment about 7 minutes into OT.......
....their future is bright but a lot can happen in 4 years.
Winning Olympic gold is a lot like winning the Cup. Very hard to do- having to be at your best against quality
opposition every nite. Only difference is that Olympics
don't have 7 game series. But very hard to win and requires lots of work and sacrifice.
As for Hossa's hard luck- I don't care- he's been chasing a Cup for, what, 3 years now? He might have one by now had he contributed anything last spring.
Good post, Chris.......
