Joining the Super Tacks refresh later this month will be the CCM Super Tacks AS3 skates.
The CCM Super Tacks AS3 skates are an elite level skate and will sit at a price point just below the Super Tacks AS3 Pro skates, which we previously featured.
CCM’s Super Tacks AS3 skates will feature a MonoFrame one-piece boot, marking the first time the Tacks line of skates will feature the MonoFrame technology outside of the top price point. This technology allows the boot to completely wrap around your foot, improving fit and energy transfer.
Moving into the quarter package of the CCM Super Tacks AS3 skates, you will find the familiar RocketFrame Composite being used. This material is used in the most elite level skates CCM manufactures, and provides incredible power and energy transfer with each and every stride. Additionally, it has great heat molding properties which makes it awesome for getting a more custom fit around your foot.
Inside the CCM Super Tacks AS3 skates, there is a TotalDri liner being used which will actively wick away sweat to keep your feet dry. It also has abrasion reinforcement for added durability. Around your ankle will be multi-density foam for added comfort and protection, and a CCM Ortholite UltraLite footbed will rest beneath your feet.
The front of the CCM Super Tacks AS3 skates features a SpeedBlade XS tongue system, which is all new for 2020. This new system gives you the ability to use one of CCM’s three new aftermarket tongues based on your preferences. First, there is the Slim size, which is the lightest and slimmest. This helps to reduce weight and increase volume inside the boot. Next is the Regular size which is most similar to a stock tongue. However, the Regular includes D3O smart foam for added impact protection. Finally, the Extra is the thickest and most protective tongue. It does reduce internal volume, so keep that in mind if you’re swapping out tongues.
Down below the boot of the CCM Super Tacks AS3 skates are a couple of familiar items. First is the SpeedBlade XS holder which features a release mechanism for easily swapping out blades. Next is the XS Stainless Steel which has a height of 16mm and comes with a 10′ radius.
