CCM recently unveiled their latest innovation, which their calling the “pinnacle in head protection,” with the CCM Tacks 910 helmet.
The new CCM Tacks 910 helmet was designed with the help of the Neurotrauma Impact Science Laboratory at the University of Ottawa and features some awesome technology to keep your noggin protected.
Starting with the technology, CCM combined the use of D3O smart material with new Fluid Inside pods. These pods help the manage linear and rotational forces acting on soft brain tissue by allowing the helmet to sort of “float” on your head. They are placed in the liner and help take protection to the next level in the CCM Tacks 910 helmet.
The liner in the CCM Tacks 910 helmet is a new I.Q.Shion gel liner which uses memory foam for maximum comfort. It’s layered with molded dual density foams to maximize comfort and fit. This will allow you and your head to feel good from the time you put the helmet on right up until you take it off.
The CCM Tacks 910 helmet also includes a new self-adjusting active stabilizer cushion in the rear portion of the helmet. This is designed to support the occipital bone region. It helps the helmet to sit snug on your head, providing an extremely comfortable fit.
You will also find a new tool-free adjustment piece on the CCM Tacks 910 helmet. This will allow you to adjust the helmet front to back and make it easier than ever before to dial in a fit to your liking. They have also maximized the fit in such a way with this adjustment piece, that it will fit a wider range of head sizes than ever before.
