Petr Mrazek robs Nick Bonino with glove save

Midway through the second period, the Pittsburgh Penguins were trailing the Detroit Red Wings 2-1 when Penguins forward Nick Bonino was practically given a “gimme” to tie the game.

But Wings goaltender Petr Mrazek had other thoughts.

The play unfolded with a slapshot from defenseman Cameron Gaunce that off to Mrazek’s right side, hit the backboards and sprung back out on his left side. Bonino cut across the front of the net, corralled the puck and flipped a backhand toward the net, but Mrazek went post-to-post to slide over and glove the shot. The Red Wings went on to win the game by a score of 5-2. Check out video of the glove save below.
