Andrew Shaw Loses It After Taking A Bad Penalty

With less than a minute left in the Montreal Canadiens matchup against the Anaheim Ducks last night, Andrew Shaw took a bad penalty with his team down by a goal. What happened after that, however, was completely uncalled for.

As the Canadiens mounted great pressure with their net empty, Shaw hooked an opposing player as they battled for a loose puck. Afterward, Shaw definitely let his emotions get the best of him as he completely lost it.

First, Shaw was upset about the call while he was on the ice. It wasn’t until he got to the penalty box, however, that he let it all out. He started by breaking the blade off of his stick after smashing it against the glass. Next, he took the remaining portion of his shaft and broke it over his knee. He must have been in all out hulk mode because it looked like a pretty effortless break.

With only a small portion of his stick left in his hands, Shaw really let the refs know what he was feeling. He had some choice words for whichever ref was skating by at the time, and it ultimately led to him being ejected from the game.

Shaw wasn’t done yet, though. On his way out, he delivered one final blow to the Canadiens stick rack which sent twigs flying everywhere.

The Montreal Canadiens would go on to lose the game by a final score of 2-1. Despite the loss, the Canadiens still lead the NHL with 34 points and a 16-5-2 record.
