Jack Capuano Takes Puck to Face

New York Islanders head coach Jack Capuano was on the wrong side of a deflection during the third period of tonight’s Game 1 against Tampa Bay. The bench boss was struck by in the face by the puck after it flew into the bench area after being shot by Alex Killorn and deflected off the shin guard of Ryan Strome.

Capuano was quickly helped by the medical staff and was helped back to the locker room. The game was 4-2 at the time following a goal from Nikita Kucherov and he returned with just under three minutes remaining in the game just as Valtteri Flippula scored to make it a one-goal game.

Cal Clutterbuck put the game out of reach with an empty netter with 55 seconds remaining to give the Islanders a 1-0 series lead.
