Patrick Kane’s Ridiculous Backhand Assist

There are so many plays in the NHL these days that go under the radar or don’t really get the same attention as others. One of them would be Patrick Kane’s incredible assist from last night.

Kane collected the puck near his own blue line, and quickly skated in the offensive zone. Near the top of the right circle, he launched an incredible backhand pass through the St. Louis Blues defense and right on to the tape of Artemi Panarin who one-timed it into the back of the net.

The Blues players were stunned after the play, probably wondering “how the heck did he do that?”

Patrick Kane has done an incredible job of making the most difficult plays look easy this season. He currently leads the NHL in goals (30), assists (43), and points (73). What once seemed like it could be a race between Kane and Jamie Benn for the scoring race, seems to have just turned into a one man show. Kane currently holds a 16 point lead on the Dallas Stars forward.
