FIRST STAR – ALEX OVECHKIN, LW, WASHINGTON CAPITALS
Alex Ovechkin went on a tear last week in the goal scoring department. He picked up a total of 5 goals in 4 games played, including two multi-goal games. One of those goals was also the 500th of his NHL career, making him the only Russian born player to ever accomplish that feat.
Alex Ovechkin is a Bauer athlete, wearing their gear out on the ice. He starts with Bauer Vapor 1X LE skates on his feet, and adds some nice yellow laces. He wears Bauer pro pants, and a Bauer helmet. On his hands are Bauer Vapor APX2 pro gloves and he does all his goal scoring with a new Bauer Supreme 1S stick.
SECOND STAR – PETR MRAZEK, G, DETROIT RED WINGS
Petr Mrazek’s outstanding play last week resulted in three straight Red Wings wins, and second star honors. In three games played, Mrazek allowed only 2 goals against, and also posted a shutout. He has improved to 15-8-3 on the year.
Mrazek has been posting great numbers recently for the Wings using a set of Vaughn Velocity series goal pads. He also uses the Vaughn Velocity blocker and catch glove. His goal stick, on the other hand, comes from Warrior.
THIRD STAR – TYSON BARRIE, D, COLORADO AVALANCHE
Tyson Barrie had a great week for the Avalanche last week, resulting in his third star selection. The Avalanche defenseman contributed 3 goals and 3 assists during four games to lead all defenseman. Barrie also helped his squad pick up six of a possible eight points over that time.
Barrie uses gear from Bauer and CCM out on the ice. His helmet comes from Bauer, while his gloves are a CCM pro model. He uses an old Bauer Supreme Total One MX3 stick, as well as Bauer pants. On his feet are Bauer Nexus skates.
