16-year-old scores baseball-style goal

We’ve already seen some several impressive goals this season, but the tally that ends up being the 2015-16 goal of the year may not come from a player like Alexander Ovechkin, Jamie Benn or Steven Stamkos. It may not come from an NHL player at all. Instead, it could very well come from a 16-year-old Canadian player with the Burnaby Winter Club’s U18 squad.

Nathan Pelletier, who hails from Coquitlam, B.C., which lies in the Metro Vancouver region, has made waves across the Internet with his incredible tally against the Couer d’Alene Hockey Academy last Saturday.

With BWC up 4-0 midway through the third period, Pelletier, who comes in at 5’11” and 165 pounds, takes a pass down low in the corner and maneuvers toward the net where he encounters a diving Couer d’Alene defender. Instead of going around the defender, Pelletier flips the puck up into the air over the defender and then smack it out of mid-air and right into the net.

This is a goal you truly need to see to believe. BWC went on to win the game by a score of 7-0. Pelletier currently has four goals and seven assists in 17 games with BWC.
