Jason Zucker Gets Stick Caught in Both Skates

What happened to Jason Zucker last night was new to me. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it happen before.

Late in the first period of last night’s game against the Arizona Coyotes, Minnesota Wild forward Jason Zucker was taken down when Connor Murphy’s stick blade got stuck in the holder of Zucker’s left skate. As Zucker fumbled around on the ice and tried to get loose, the unimaginable happened. Instead of freeing himself, Zucker managed to send the butt end of Murphy’s stick right through the holder on his right skate.

Afterwards, Murphy attempted to regain possession of his stick. He quickly realized what had happened though, and just skated away leaving Zucker helpless on the ice.

Murphy was not penalized on the play, much to the dismay of Jason Zucker. I’m sure they had a laugh over it later though. Heck, even Zach Parise was on the bench laughing about it afterwards.

Despite the misfortune, Zucker’s Wild would go on to win the contest. They delivered the first loss to the Coyotes with a 4-3 final. The Wild remain perfect on the young season with a 3-0 record. The young Coyotes team has been impressive thus far and are now 3-1.
