Ilya Kovalchuk Scores No Look Goal at World Championships
- Updated: May 12, 2015
With Ilya Kovalchuk playing in the KHL these days, we generally miss out on most of the awesome goals he’s scoring. They fly under the radar, while only the really special ones are shown.
However, since Kovalchuk is playing in the IIHF World Championships with Russia, we were fortunate enough to get a look at this beauty of a goal he scored against Belarus.
Skating along the right wing, Kovalchuk skated the puck in and approached the net on a two on one. Kovalchuk was looking at his linemate the entire time as he drove to the net, and then ultimately surprised the goaltender when he released a lightning quick shot.
The shot quickly found the back of the net and gave Russia a 1-0 lead midway through the first period of that game.
Russia would eventually go on to defeat Belarus with a final score of 7-0.
Check out the video below of Kovalchuk’s incredible no look goal and leave us a comment with your thoughts!
