True XCORE 9 Stick

True Hockey will soon be releasing their latest premier level product, the True XCORE 9 stick.

True’s new hockey stick is all about their XCORE technology, which they believe will be revolutionary and game changing.

According to True Hockey, XCORE is a “patented blade design featuring a compressible urethane insert strategically embedded into the core of the blade. This transformational technology will produce an average of 30% more rotational puck spin leading to heavier and more accurate shots as the puck explodes off the blade. The compressible insert also provides unmatched puck control when giving or receiving a pass and stick handling, giving the player the industry’s first true ‘wood like’ feel in a one piece stick.”

For a better look at how the XCORE 9 stick reacts during the shooting process, check out the video below.

We’ll go ahead and break down what’s happening in the video above.

First, the puck makes it’s initial contact with the blade. You can see next that the XCORE blade compresses in order to absorb the impact and maintain a consistent contact with the blade. The puck loses contact from the competitors blade. While the puck continues to travel steadily along the blade of the XCORE, creating additional spin, the puck has to reconnect with the competition’s blade and start spinning more towards the mid-point of the blade. Finally, the puck is released from the XCORE blade with a nice and steady spin, while the competition has a softer shot with more flutter.

In addition to the patented XCORE technology in the blade, the new True XCORE 9 stick also features familiar True technologies such as Smartply, Axenic and SmartFlex. These carry over from True’s previous premier level stick the A6.0.

The XCORE 9 stick is also constructed using a full carbon twill weave on 100% of the stick. The XCORE is made TRUE for any level player who is looking to improve their shooting accuracy or puck control.

True Hockey’s XCORE 9 stick will come in six different blade patterns, including two heel curves, a mid curve, and three different toe curves. It comes in at a weight of 425 grams, and will be available in senior, intermediate and junior sizes with several flexes available at the senior level.

The True Hockey XCORE 9 stick launches today, May 1st. Check out the stick below and drop us a note in the comments with your thoughts!
