Dustin Byfuglien will be rocking some incredibly custom skates this weekend in Columbus at the 2015 NHL All Star Game.
Byfuglien, an All-Star defenseman for the Winnipeg Jets, has received a pair of new VH Footwear skates with neon green accents in order to match the All-Star Game jerseys. While his typical skates, which we talked about a bit earlier this week, normally use a light blue color, his skates for this weekend will utilize neon green.
His skates are already pretty flashy with the blue and white color scheme, along with some silver and black accents as well, but now Byfuglien will really stand out among the competition.
If you’re not familiar with VH Footwear, you can check out their website here. They make custom skates for a few Winnipeg Jets players, and a number of NHLers. The company was founded by Scott Van Horne, whose name might sound familiar for his involvement with MLX Skates.

Ugly! Also, VH has not perfected manufacturing of skates. There is always an issue with stitching and tongue fit. These guys are bush league manufacturers.

And you know this how?????? Van Horne has been building skates for speed skaters, which he was once a competitor, and they work quite well. Bush league is a little harsh. Is this an analysis(by yourself) based on the fact that they cannot afford the NHL fees that are charged to suppliers to have there products’ name shown during games? BIG DEAL!!! A dozen or so players are wearing these skates for a reason, and I don’t think it’s because Van Horne is bush league.

I purchase a pair.Going from bauer x7 to VH was the best decision i have ever made,wish i could have afford them earler.like having clouds on your feet,they grab your feet like they are a part of them.
Best skates out there! Every year you see more and more NHL pros rocking these. If you can afford them get them! Worth every dollar!
I’ve been in VH skates, on ice 3-4 times a week, for three months now. The custom fit is, of course, better than anything I can get off the shelf. They are wearing great- zero issues. Unless you can get a perfect fit with great durability and performance off the shelf, I’d absolutely recommend giving VH a go.
