For now, the Washington Capitals continue to hold onto a wild card playoff spot, with Florida, Boston and Ottawa on their heels. Should the team fall out of playoff contention, they may choose to offer Green, who is scheduled to become a UFA next summer, as a playoff rental. Green is no longer the 70+ point scorer he once was, but his puck-moving prowess will provide a boost for a team looking to enhance their power play. Detroit seems to be a likely destination for Green should he become available, but Nashville and Anaheim could get involved as well.
