A highly paid, underachieving center, the Los Angeles Kings may trade Richards and his $5.75 million cap hit through 2019-20 to help shed salary. Richards, however, hasn’t hit the 20-goal plateau since 2010-11, making it tough for the Kings to find a taker for that kind of money and lackluster offensive productiuon. A fringe team with cap space, like Calgary, Florida or Minnesota, could potentially take a chance on Richards.
