Several hours after last nights game against Columbus that resulted in a 3-2 win the Tampa Bay, forward Ryan Malone was arrested early Saturday morning on charges of driving under the influence and cocaine possession.

The arrest occurred at 3:23 Saturday morning on Platt Street and Rome Avenue S in Tampa. When he was pulled over by police, officers  say they determined Malone was intoxicated. As he was being arrested for the DUI, police discovered cocaine in Malone’s rear pocket. There were no other immediate details according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s report. Malone, 34 years old was being held on $2,500 bond.

Tampa Bay GM Steve Yzerman issued a statement this morning, only saying “We are aware of the situation concerning Ryan Malone this morning. Ryan will not travel with the team to Washington today, but beyond that we cannot comment further at this time.”

The 2010 Olympic silver medalist with the United State has had a difficult season this year. He’s had five goals and 15 points in 57 games. He’s currently on the fourth line when he’s played but has been a healthy scratch the last three games the club has played. His current contract ends next summer, but according to CapGeek he has a no trade clause but can submit a 12-team list next season.

The last tweet from his Twitter account (@Bugsy12Malone) that wasn’t a retweet came January 1 when he posted a picture of his stitched eyebrow after suffering a cut.
