Ales Hemsky has been a real solid trade deadline pick up for the Ottawa Senators. He’s managed 8 points on 2 goals and 6 assists in the 7 games since the deadline. That turns out to be just as many points as he had picked up in his previous 24 games with the Oilers.
Hemsky still has plenty left in the tank though, as he showed last night. Trailing 2-3 against the Tampa Bay Lightning late in the 2nd period, Hemsky took a pass from Milan Michalek just outside the blue line and dangled his way right through the Lightning defense. Hemsky then proceeded to undress Ben Bishop and bury the puck in the back of the net for a spectacular highlight reel goal.
