Sherwood Rekker EK15 Stick

Sherwood EK15 Stick

The Sherwood Rekker EK15 stick was released late in 2013 as Sherwood’s new top of the line stick. At a price point that now seems incredibly low compared to other top of the line sticks, $199.99 for the senior model, Sherwood is working hard at providing the best bang for the buck. However, the price point is not the only great thing about the Sherwood Rekker EK15 twig.

As we dive into the specs, the first thing we’ll notice about the Sherwood EK15 is that it’s incredibly light. While Sherwood posted a picture of the EK15 weighing in at 381 grams, our friends at Ice Warehouse came in with a weight of 385 grams based on an 85 flex and PP26 curve. Regardless of that four gram difference, the EK15 is sub 400 grams. While other brands have stopped focusing so much on weight, you can see its still important and Sherwood is setting the bar high with the weight of this stick.

Additionally, you’ll find that the Sherwood EK15 stick is a true one piece constructed stick, and comes with rounded corners on the shaft and double concave sidewalls. Sherwood also uses their new VRF.2 (Vibration Reduction Foam Core)  on the Rekker EK15 which helps the stick to feel newer for a longer period of time. The blade will also utilize a carbon bridge stabilizer to help prevent the blade from opening up on shots. The stabilizer will also help to provide great puck feel.

The Sherwood EK15 provides an extremely low kick point for shooters. In fact, the kick point is even lower than on the Nexon series of sticks. This low kick point helps shooters to get a shot away as quickly as possible.

There are also a couple other unique features on the Rekker EK15 that deserve highlighting. First, there is a “flex free zone” at the butt end of the stick. In this four inch area, you can make a cut to change the length of your stick without it effecting the flex. Second, every step of the assembly process for the EK15 is done completely by hand. This is a great feature as it really helps in the precision features of the stick.

The Sherwood Rekker EK15 stick is now available at hockey retail outlets everywhere. If you’re interested in picking one up, head over to Ice Warehouse and grab it for only $199.99 with free shipping! Click here to head to IW now!

  1. 85 flex is more like 75 flex. nice and light, but IMO I’d spend a few more bucks and go for Vapor or NXG . kickpoint is real low.

  2. Getting this twig in a week. Can’t wait to try it out because it truly seems like it’s different than all the other big name stick companies(Bauer,CCM,Reebok, warrior, easton)
