Chris Stewart Takes Puck To Face

St. Louis is already reeling with injuries to David Backes and Alex Steen, and they cannot afford any more injuries to key players. But they suffered another blow Tuesday night when Chris Stewart took an accidental puck to the face from Jason Pominville early in the first period.

Stewart laid on the ice motionless for several minutes  after falling straight to the ice and had to be helped off  by trainers. He doesn’t wear a visor and it appeared the puck hit him in the nose or mouth area. It occurred seconds after he came on the ice as you can see in the video below.

Stewart has 13 goals, nine assists, and 73 penalty minutes in 39 games this season. At the time of this post, the Blues lead the Minnesota Wild 2-0 at the second intermission.
