Hockey World Blog Silent Auction for Pancreatic Cancer Research

For the month of November, Hockey World Blog will be holding a silent auction of used and barely used hockey sticks in an effort to raise funds for pancreatic cancer research. The cause is near and dear to our hearts; a loss of a mother.

How it Works:

For the entire month of November, silent bids on used hockey sticks will be accepted with a minimum starting bid of $20 dollars, and every bid thereafter with a minimum increase of $5 dollars. Bids can be made by emailing eb@hockeyworldblog.com with the stick name as well as the bid amount. You will be notified if your bid stands, if someone else has already bid that amount, or if your bid has been out bid. At the end of the month, if your bid stands, the bid amount is to be made in donation form to Hockey World Blog’s Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research donation page. Once the donation has been made, the stick will be shipped by Hockey World Blog to participants within the United States and Canada.

Other Details:

All sticks are right handed and have no manufacturer’s warranty. Sticks have been used by Hockey World Blog writers in games for review purposes. Some sticks have more wear than others. Shipping will be covered by Hockey World Blog. If further information about the sticks is needed, please contact EB at eb@hockeyworldblog.com with your questions.

In a nutshell, you have a chance to receive a great stick at a reduced price, while donating to a great cause.

  1. Hey, I just wanted to thank you for this post! In all honesty, pancreatic cancer gets very little exposure compared to say breast cancer or even prostate cancer, and yet the five-year survival rate for pancreatic cancer is only 6%! I think it is great that you guys are holding this silent auction for pancreatic cancer! Since it is pancreatic cancer awareness month, it is important to spread the word about new advancements in pancreatic cancer treatments and diagnosis. That is why, in honor of this month, I wanted to share a brand new infographic on pancreatic cancer: http://www.knowcancer.com/blog/national-pancreatic-cancer-month/
