Hockey World Blog and BASE Hockey Team Up in Ronning Cup

Have you ever wanted to create a YouTube video that can become viral? Have you ever wanted the opportunity to take on a former NHL player in a shooting contest? Have you ever wanted to win a free, one-of-a-kind customized hockey stick? You now have the chance to accomplish all three from the comfort of your home with the BASE Hockey Ronning Cup presented by Hockey World Blog.

Check out the flyer below and visit their website for complete rules, entry information or if you have any questions. The contest began September 22, 2012 and will run until Saturday, December 22, 2012. Players can enter and upload their shooting videos as many times as they desire, with the winner having their video go head-to-head with 300+ goal scorer Cliff Ronning. Ronning created the company with former Easton executive Holmes Ghassemi and Innovative Hockey’s Ron Kunisaki. The complete rules are on their website and YouTube channel, but the most important rules are below:

  • Players MUST use a BASE hockey stick. Place your order for a custom hockey stick today so you can enter the Ronning Cup.
  • Players MUST attach two sheets of reinforced paper at each top corner. If your target comes off during the 27-puck attempt, your entry is void. Need help with your target? Check out this tutorial.
  • Your shots MUST come from 27 feet. Don’t know how far 27 feet is? It’s the width of a tennis court (Seen in this demo)

Be sure to check back here and at BASE Hockey for updates. The winning shooter and their video will be posted here upon completion of the contest in December. In the meantime, check out this entry from Andrew Pitters.
