Nathan MacKinnon highlights abundant early in season

If you haven’t heard of Nathan MacKinnon yet, get used to hearing his name. A lot.

The 17-year-old MacKinnon was recently named one of the top prospects and a likely selection to go number one overall in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft next June. Ten games into his current season with the Halifax Mooseheads and MacKinnon ranks sixth in the league in scoring with 11 goals and six assists – including a hat trick en route to a four-point night in an 11-2 victory against the Saint John SeaDogs on Oct. 6. A strong season from MacKinnon could cement him as the number one overall selection at the draft next June, and if the highlight reel material that he has already provided this season is any indication, we could be in for a real treat as the season goes on. Check out the videos below for a taste of MacKinnon’s skill.
