Gustav Nyquist picked up his first NHL career goal from a sweet pass from Pavel Datsyuk as the Detroit Red Wings defeated the struggling Columbus Blue Jackets 7-2. The Wings’ win clinched a playoff spot for their 21st playoff appearance in a row. Despite looking rather poor as of late, and even though they did play Columbus, the Red Wings started to look like their old selves again. The team is still experiencing many injuries with hopes of the majority of them returning soon, the Red wings might be alright come playoff time for a deep push to hoist another Stanley Cup.
