The Buffalo Sabres notched another win to go 7-2-1 in their last 10 games, putting them only 4 points out of 8th seed in the Eastern Conference. The win came against the Montreal Canadiens who have been major underachievers throughout the season. The game was an exciting one still, as the Sabres up 2-1 in the the third period, only to have the Canadiens’ David Desharnais score with 5 seconds to go in the game to put the game into overtime. Overtime saw the Sabres’ Tyler Myers put in his eight goal of the season for the win. Tyler Ennis of the Sabres had a two-goal night while Drew Stafford had two assists. The win was awarded to Ryan Miller.

The Buffalo Sabres are playing tough hockey late in the season during a season filled with controversy. After Ryan Miller was run over by Milan Lucic of the Boston Bruins, rumors spread of Millers unhappiness and possibility of being traded. Chatter has calmed down and the Sabres are playing as a team, pushing for the playoffs. It is a tight race for 8th seed; do you think the Sabres can claim it?
