The Sickest Hockey Trick Shot You Will Ever See

Last week I spent my only weekday off from my day job to watch some ESPN. I’m not a big fan of the 4-letter network primarily because of their lack of NHL coverage but also their nearly 24-hour coverage of the most annoying people in sports (included but not limited to Brett Favre and LeBron James). But one of my favorite shows to watch is SportsNation. SportsNation is a weekday show hosted by Colin Cowherd and the lovely Michelle Beadle. A vast majority of the material on television is submitted by fans, which can include videos uploaded from Youtube, athlete tweets, and fan polls on various topics. It’s perhaps the most interactive show on ESPN.

They have a segment on the show called Weird Web Stories, where they show a few clips submitted to then via the Internet. The video below is perhaps the most fascinating trick shot I have ever seen. It trumps anything I can remember in recent memory, even of the one last week in an American Hockey League preseason game.

Here’s a little background on the clip. The person’s name is Shayne Morrissey and this hockey move is called “The Morrissey Mixer” at the Xtreme Hockey School in St. John’s, Newfoundland. It was shot sometime over the summer as it was uploaded to Youtube August 31, 2010.
