Chris Chelios, age 47, could sign with the Atlanta Thrasher’s AHL affiliate the Chicago Wolves.
Chelios began his career in 1983 with the Montreal Canadiens and played 7 seasons with the team. He later signed with the Chicago Blackhawks and contributed 9 seasons between the years of 1990 and 1999. Last season, and 10 seasons in total, Chelios played for the Detroit Red Wings.
During his play Chris Chelios has won 3 Stanley Cups (Montreal 1986, Detroit 2002, Detroit 2008), 3 time Norris Trophy Winner (1989, 1993, 1996) and ranks 6th in all time games played (1,644).
Chelios perhaps is most notably associated with the Chicago Blackhawks, and only seems fitting that he return to the city. He is expected to play this upcoming Monday with the Wolves, and possibly could be offered a spot on the roster after the team returns from a Canadien road trip, a team spokesman has said.
The Chicago Wolves are the AHL affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers.

What’s the point? Can he (Chelios) be of any value to anyone anymore? I think it’s borderline shameful-
an affiliate of that hockey hotbed, Atlanta.

with some dignity instead of kicking and screaming (albeit figuratively)?
I would like evryone to remove the ge blinders and watch and se what chelios is still capable of. he is still better than half the defenceman in the NHL and to me that tells me he should still be playing. why do I get the feeling most people with opinions have never seen him play,and to take it a step further have never played ANY hockey themselves. I say keep playing chelly , fyi I kicked your ass back when you were with moose jaw in 80 but dont think I want to revisit that at my ripe old age of 48 . keep it rolling for us guys thst never made it , good luck the rest of the way.
